Intanin Racing Team

Who We Are

We are Intanin Racing Team. In 2022, our team is formed by 6 high school enthusiasts from Shrewsbury International School based in Bangkok, with the help of a qualified teacher and advisor with experience in F1 in Schools World Finals. Each member of the team is a student who is studying in the field of STEM, specialising in fields such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Our passion for putting the theory we have studied in the classroom into a real-life setting, getting hands-on experience, and being able to unleash our entrepreneurship drove us to participate in F1 in Schools.

The Intanin tree, held sacred by many indigenous Thai communities, is believed to provide the owner with the protection from Indra and bring prosperity to the locals.

What is F1 in Schools Competition?

F1 in Schools is a not-for-profit social enterprise aiming to change the perception of STEM-related subjects through global competition. We take part in a multi-disciplinary challenge in which we use professional CAD software to design, analyze, manufacture, test, and race smaller-scale air-powered cars.

The competition comprises 3 rounds -- the nationals, regionals, and the world finals. The competition is judged using a point-based system regarding Design & Engineering, Project management, Enterprise, Verbal presentation, and most importantly, Racing; the race is separated into 3 parts including racing session 1, racing session 2, and knockout round.

F1 in Schools’ key aim is to improve educational opportunities in STEM subjects globally, as well as to increase diversity in motorsport and engineering among underrepresented groups. Each year more than 17,000 schools in 51 nations take on the challenge of developing the world’s fastest miniature F1 car. (source: REA Foundation).
